 Regulatory Compliance Division
Community LiaisonThe Community Liaison Branch was formed in 1999 to educate people about SLGA’s rules and regulations.
The Branch holds presentations, meetings, workshops, training and consultations for permitees and stakeholders.
The community meetings and workshops have proven to be popular throughout Saskatchewan. The workshop deals with a specific event – such as a cabaret, homecoming or sports day – and involves all of the volunteers working the event. It’s an opportunity for these volunteers to learn about issues such as regulations concerning minors, crowd control and signs of intoxication. During the year, the Branch has received increased interest in its training programs from commercial permittees.
The Branch has also received numerous requests for presentations with regard to the responsible use of beverage alcohol and liability concerns. A presentation concerning liability and issues of concern has been developed and is available on request. The issue of responsible use has come from some school divisions and the RCMP. The Branch has delivered presentations in conjunction with local RCMP detachments through school visitations.
